Here's the 24th page of my Undertale fan comic, Just Cause! Have fun!

What's this? A new color for the layout lines? Looks we're about to see a timeline that hasn't been shown yet! Based on the dialogue and the timelines you've seen, can you guess which one it is?

A couple notes about this page:

In the second panel, when Sans is talking about going back, he's drawing a curtain over the machine in his workshop. In the game, you can find that machine in the workshop, mostly covered by a curtain, but it appears to be broken.

There's no conclusive in-game evidence that says what he was trying to go back to, or what the machine is for, but at one point while semi-conscious he says "you'll never see 'em' again", and it's unclear whether he's talking to the protagonist or himself.

My theory is that he was trying to go back in time to see or save someone he'd lost, but eventually gave up.

Another interesting note about Sans: the more bad things you've done, and the less he cares about you, the more he'll open up to you about things he's unhappy about. On the other end of the spectrum, the more you've treated monsters kindly, and the more he cares about you, the less he's willing to divulge potentially upsetting things.

He also has a tendency to lie to his brother. If you've killed some of Papyrus' friends, Sans will try to convince Papyrus that they're on vacation. And if you murder Papyrus himself, Sans won't tell Toriel that the child she protected and still cares about went on to kill his brother.

It seems that one of the main signs that Sans cares about a person is that he starts trying to distort their reality to look happier than it is, and it's only in the presence of someone he feels no need to protect that he's willing to reveal hurtful truths.

On a more meta note, I've started to experiment with multiply layers for the shading, so if the shading looks a bit different from the third panel on, that's why. I also deviated a bit from my usual habit of precisely mimicking the in-game patterns of Sans' attacks, because him starting the blaster attack with a shot WAY above Frisk's head just wouldn't have had the right effect.

That first blaster is also smaller and weaker than it should have been, hence Frisk being able to dodge to the side instead of being forced to jump over it. All that pesky sympathy and semiconscious past timeline memory, getting in the way of shooting magic at mass murderers.
