One of the challenges of publishing a book like My Fugitive is deciding what genre it is. Is it ‘War and Military’? ‘Suspense’? ‘Contemporary Women’? ‘Medical’? ‘Coming of Age’? All of those describe aspects of the story, but none of them really sum up what it’s truly about.
The feedback I got from one of my readers is that they’d expected more action, and found My Fugitive to be more psychologically oriented than they’d anticipated. That being the case, I was hoping to get a few additional opinions on the matter, particularly from people who have read My Fugitive themselves.
I’m thinking of changing the subtitle to “A Wartime Psychological Suspense Novel”, to better reflect the nature of the novel. For those who have read the book, do you think that description would fit it well?
