Toriel may dislike violence, but she is very good at it. Her attack patterns are hard to dodge, and if she wasn't treating her opponent with kid gloves, she'd probably finish them with frightening speed.

As it is, the longer she drags this out, the closer she comes to bringing herself and Frisk to an outcome they'll both regret.

When I first got to this part of the game, the first thing that flashed through my mind was the words, "Holy shit. She's about to go full yandere on me."

The original script actually had Frisk say that, but then I realized they probably wouldn't be familiar with the term "yandere", and it felt a bit out of character.

Wow, it's been a while since I finished one of these! Floral pattern side projects with pride flag series versions will do that to a webcomic, haha.

Toriel actually does understand questions, of course; she's just trying to end this conversation before Frisk can get back onto the topic of going to the surface. Not the most effective way to sidetrack a kid, but it can be hard to think and suppress fear at the same time.

Here's the latest page of Just Cause! If you haven't read the previous pages, you can read the whole comic from the beginning here, or you can read the fanfic version here.

The life Frisk wanted so badly is almost within reach, but there's still that one urgent thing drawing them back toward the world from which they just escaped.

On a lighter note, it isn't canonically stated that the pie's plate is made of paper, but I figured it had to be something Frisk could fold. Otherwise they'd have a loose piece of pie just sitting in their pocket, getting smeared all over their inventory.

The First 7 Chapters of “Just Cause”: Fanfic Edition Are Now Public!

I’ve held off on this for a while, because (1). it was a lot of text to reformat for the finicky web, and (2.) THERE ARE ALWAYS MORE THINGS TO TWEAK AND EDIT, AAAAH!

Despite those reservations, I decided it was finally time to let people see the fruits of my efforts.

I am happy to announce that the first 7 chapters of the written version of my Undertale webcomic, Just Cause, are now available on this website and Archive Of Our Own!

If you want to help me create new chapters of Just Cause faster, both the written and comic versions, please consider supporting me on Patreon so I can spend more time on writing and art.
